Whilst it’s well documented that scaffolds should be erected and dismantled by a competent person, the training of your workers while undertaking tasks on scaffolds can be forgotten. Use our new document to raise staff awareness.
The aim of this Safe System of Work - Working on Fixed Scaffolds is to highlight some of the hazards of working at height to your staff so they know what to do to keep themselves safe. They may not be trained in scaffold erection but are still exposed to the risks just by simply working on the equipment, so talking them through the safe method of working will reduce the chances of an incident occuring.
What’s included?
The hazards and controls are included, along with reminding staff about what to do in an emergency situation. There is also a reminder about the correct PPE that should be worn by them. Amend this to suit each siting of scaffolds as the hazards can change from site to site.
